According to the www.newtrucks2018.com website, the upcoming Toyota Tacoma will get diesel powertrain.
So, the Toyota Tacoma Diesel is finally happening. The oil-burner pickup truck will reportedly arrive in North America by the end of the next year. It’s going to feature a familiar option under the hood. More precisely, the overseas Hilux workhorse will give its optional diesel option.
That’s a 2.7-liter turbo diesel unit capable of delivering 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. The engine will enable a decent towing capacity, which is rumored to be around 8,000 pounds. Both six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes will be available.
Aside it’s going to host a diesel, the new Tacoma will also update the current infotainment system and safety features. The carmaker will not skip the chance to show something new from the outside, and we bet on an all-new grille.
The Tacoma Diesel should cost a bit more from the gasoline sibling. However, it’s not going to cross $30K price tag without any doubt.
